Happy four and a bit weeks to Christmas!
We have had confirmation that the new traffic light system being introduced will start at 11.59pm on Tuesday 2nd December. This will allow us to operate within the new Covid-19 Protection Framework as part of the gym sector.
What does this mean for you?
To ensure safe operations over the next few months, our team are 100% committed to maintaining the highest standard of service, hygiene and protection as required by the NZ Government Covid-19 Protection Framework. As per NZ Government policy for gyms/fitness centres, Jenkins Gym & Healthy Inspirations will require all members to be vaccinated against Covid-19 when New Zealand moves to the traffic light system on December 3 This includes all visitors, staff and contractors. Please note that all our staff and contractors that work and teach for us will be fully vaccinated.
What can you do now.
Apply for your NZ Digital Covid Pass. These are available now and can be applied for here. COVID Vaccination CertificateThe good news is you will only need to show us your Covid Vaccination Pass once. We are currently waiting for the government verifying app and once this is available the Jenkins team will be able to scan your vaccination certificate and mark that we’ve verified it.
Alternatively - you can choose to send us a copy of your vaccine pass via email to reneewright@jenkinsgym.co.nz Please note, the purple card issued at the time of vaccination will not be accepted as proof and the gym will not store any health information.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING & ONGOING SUPPORT
Once your pass has been verified you will be welcome to enter the gym premises, as per normal. For 24 hour users that come outside of staffed hours, your first visit needs to be during staffed hours (or have had your pass emailed to us and verified) to show a staff member your vaccination pass for verification. After that you will be free to come and go as per normal too.
We sincerely hope that you can appreciate that we have done everything we can to ensure your safety. Equally, we kindly ask you to understand the challenges our business is facing as we constantly adapt to the Government’s requirements for our business. Please know that your patience and support is appreciated.
With the gym entering into this new traffic light framework it allows us to continue operating not only at level green, but also at levels orange or red. While we regret having to exclude anyone from using the facility, our focus is to serve as many members as possible. The alternative for us if we did not require members and staff to be vaccinated, would be too close. This new system allows us to operate with fewer distancing restrictions and reduces the need for limits on capacity.
We hope to have Top Ride and our full group fitness timetable back up and running by the 4th December. We’re just waiting on clarification on some rules from the government regarding this. We’ll let everyone know as soon as we are able.
We know at all levels, the water cooler can be back in use so you can look forward to being able to full up your water bottle again at the gym. Regarding fans, we’re waiting for more information on whether or not these will be able to be used for green, orange or red levels.
Kid’s club should go back to normal hours but we’re again, just waiting for clarification on the rules on this.
We 100% believe, that time at the gym, some fresh air and fun with friends and family is what we all need more than ever and we look forward to welcoming back live Top Ride classes and our normal group fitness timetable this summer.
